A weekend at Panorama

The best thing about waking up in the mountains, is being on mountain time. Whether that means a slow lazy day of relaxation and reconnection, or an early start for an alpine adventure Panorama is your base camp for both. Kick back, or kick up some dust — here's a weekend at Panorama:

DAY ONE
The Valley Trail

Waking up surrounded by the towering Purcell Mountains, it's hard not to want to take it all in. Sit back and enjoy the peace of the early morning, or grab a coffee and your sneakers and breathe in the cool, crisp morning air while strolling the Valley Trail. Lookout stops and benches are located along the 3.5km paved route which provides you beautiful vistas of Greywolf Golf Course, and will take you along the banks of the Toby Creek.

Hit the trails

Continue your day on the trails and head out on foot or under pedal power. With everything from winding paved pathways, short family friendly adventures, full alpine exploration, lift accessed downhill riding and endless single track, Panorama and the Columbia Valley have an endless supply of networks for you to explore. If you're looking to get into DH mountain biking, lessons and rentals are offered at the resort for both adults and children.

Relax poolside

After your day of exploration unwind at the outdoor pools. Tired legs will be stoked to soak in the outdoor slope side hot pools at Panorama Springs, or relax on the deck of the cool pools in the sunshine.

DAY TWO
Golf

Take in the views of the mountains as you tee off at Greywolf Golf Course. Ranked the #1 public course in BC, Greywolf's dramatic mountain setting, thought provoking design and stunning elevation changes has placed it at the top of many golf bucket lists.

Relax and reconnect

Golf not your thing? Take the morning to rejuvenate and reconnect, whether it's a guided forest wellness walk, a session of mountain yoga, or a family stroll to the Hale Hut for a picnic lunch.

 Alpine adventure

Spend the afternoon exploring the valley. Journey up into the alpine with the team at Toby Creek Adventures, by ATV and SXS. Heading up to their backcountry cabin located 8000ft above sea level and in the heart of the Purcell's with the Canadian Rockies stretching to the horizon. You'll discover remnants of a silver mining town from the 1900's, wildflower meadows, alpine wildlife and a waterfall.

Paddle power

From mountain tops to valley bottoms, grab a paddle and explore the valley by water

From mild to wild, Kootenay River Runners offers both whitewater rafting and float trips. Test your skills in the rapids of Toby Creek directly from the resort, turn up the adrenaline on the Kicking Horse River, or enjoy a family float on the Kootenay River.

For a relaxing day out, head 20 minutes down from Panorama to Invermere the home of the Columbia River Wetlands. This important wetland system provides a unique habitat for more than 260 recorded bird species, along with numerous fish, reptiles, amphibians, mammal species and countless invertebrates. Columbia River Paddle provides guided canoe tours, or you can grab a rental kayak or SUP and go with the flow. The warm waters and sandy shores of Lake Windermere are perfect for stand up paddle boarding, or the calm picturesque environment of Lake Lillian, located about halfway between Invermere and the resort.
